Measurements Eversolo DMP-A10
We tried various ways to do a phase-noise measurement on the main crystals in the DMP-A10. It has not succeeded, however; we just don’t get any lock. Should it succeed later, we will add the measurement.
What we did manage to do were measurements of dac performance via the Prism dScope. We also did noise measurements on the power supply and network port.
The Eversolo performs nicely in the bulk of the measurements. That’s not surprising; it also sounds good. The measurements were done single-ended. Balanced may perform better in some cases.
Crosstalk is low at 122dB. Dynamic range is 117dB (better with balanced connections) which comes out around 20 bits. That’s neat for this class. The Jtest shows around 5ps of jitter. That’s good for a Jtest. We don’t see the first peaks until well below -140dB, which is good.
Power supply noise and noise from the Ethernet port are under control, although we have seen better values with power supply noise. It’s all very high frequency, though, so the question is how much interference it will give. In any case, it can be gotten rid of with a decent mains filter.
Nice to hear. I’ve been considering this for Room 2 if it ever comes out in silver.
An interesting shootout/comparison (video idea?) would be to put this up against the new Blusound Icon, Wiim Ultra, and their own A8 Gen 2. With and without their internal dacs. 😉
