The new ModWright KWA 300 is a power amplifier delivering up to 300 watts into 8 ohms (550 watts into 4 ohms).
ModWright is an American brand, so if the new KWA 300 power amp catches your interest, let’s hope no import duties apply by the time it’s available. The unit is a solid-state design, featuring a single gain stage with no global feedback. According to the manufacturer, this results in clean power, strong dynamics, high resolution, and that “organic sound” ModWright is known for.
The input stage is fully discrete, and a robust power supply underpins the design. At its heart is a 2 KVA toroidal transformer.
The amplifier is still in development, so there’s no official release date yet. At the time of writing, the ModWright KWA 300 isn’t listed on the brand’s website but is featured on their official Facebook page — which is exactly where the link above takes you. You can also spot it in the screenshot accompanying the announcement.
