Betsy León is a San Diego native and a University of California, San Diego alumna. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience.
Her interest in providing support, resources, and advocacy to disadvantaged communities comes from her passion of understanding cognitive and behavioral relationships. Since her recent college graduation in 2020, she worked as a paraprofessional with Autistic families. She obtained the skills to communicate and coordinate with families and supervisors to provide support and therapy to the best of her ability. The connections she made with each child challenged and motivated her to continuously learn, unlearn, and grow her understanding of neurodivergent and/or disabled communities.
Betsy joins the Cure JM Staff as a Development Associate providing leadership to the Walk Strong Across America and Giving Tuesday Holiday Challenge programs. Betsy aims to further Cure JM’s mission for improved treatment and a cure for juvenile myositis.
Outside of her professional endeavors, she loves to play piano and the alto saxophone.
